It help you avoiding spyware and other harmful unwanted virus. Unfortunately, AVG doesn’t provide you simple user graphic interface but you still be able to run it as a text mode on terminal.
This article assumes you have at least basic knowledge of linux, know how to use the shell, and most importantly, you host your site on your own VPS. The installation is quite simple. I will show you through the step by step installation avg free antivirus on ubuntu 14.04.
Step 1. First make sure that all your system packages are up-to-date by running these following apt-get commands in the terminal.

You can scan files and directories on-demand by running avgscan. Avgscan is a command line anti-virus scanner:
