How To Install Hyper Terminal on AlmaLinux 8

In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Hyper Terminal on AlmaLinux 8. Prerequisites

• A server running one of the following operating systems: AlmaLinux 8.

• A non-root sudo user or access to the root user. We recommend acting as a non-root sudo user, however, as you can harm your system if you’re not careful when acting as the root.

Install Hyper Terminal on AlmaLinux 8

Step 1. First, let’s start by ensuring your system is up-to-date.

sudo dnf update
sudo dnf install epel-release
sudo dnf install libXScrnSaver

Step 2. Installing Hyper Terminal on AlmaLinux 8.

• Method 1. Install Hyper Terminal from the official page.

By default, Hyper Terminal is not available in AlmaLinux repositories. Now we download Hyper Terminal packages installation from the official page:

wget https://releases.hyper.is/download/AppImage

Next, change the permissions of the file to make it executable:

chmod +x Hyper-3.1.3.AppImage

Then, install Hyper Terminal using the following command below:

./Hyper-3.1.3.AppImage

• Method 2. Install Hyper Terminal from GitHub.

Now download the installer from the GitHub repository using the following command:

wget https://github.com/vercel/hyper/releases/download/v3.1.3/hyper-3.1.3.x86_64.rpm

Once done, run the following command below to install it:

sudo dnf localinstall hyper-3.1.3.x86_64.rpm

Step 3. Accessing Hyper Terminal on AlmaLinux.
