In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Sublime Text on AlmaLinux 9. This article assumes you have at least basic knowledge of Linux, know how to use the shell, and most importantly, you host your site on your own VPS. The installation is quite simple and assumes you are running in the root account, if not you may need to add ‘
sudo‘ to the commands to get root privileges. I will show you the step-by-step installation of the Sublime Text on AlmaLinux 9. You can follow the same instructions for CentOS and Rocky Linux.
- A server running one of the following operating systems: AlmaLinux 9.
- It’s recommended that you use a fresh OS install to prevent any potential issues.
- SSH access to the server (or just open Terminal if you’re on a desktop).

Install Sublime Text on AlmaLinux 9
Step 1. First, let’s start by ensuring your system is up-to-date.
sudo dnf clean all sudo dnf update sudo dnf groupinstall "Development Tools"
Step 2. Installing Sublime Text on AlmaLinux 9.
By default, Sublime Text is not available on the AlmaLinux 9 base repository. Now run the following command to install add Sublime Text repository to your AlmaLinux system:
sudo dnf config-manager --add-repo https://download.sublimetext.com/rpm/stable/x86_64/sublime-text.repo
Next, import the official GPG key for Sublime Text:
sudo rpm -v --import https://download.sublimetext.com/sublimehq-rpm-pub.gpg
sudo dnf install thunderbird
